Shannon Johnson is a visual artist, working in printmaking, photography, painting, installation, and found domestic objects, from Springfield, Massachusetts. Her work covers broad subjects with consistent threads, examining mental illness, trauma, and feminist issues concerning violence against women. Shannon graduated from Smith College in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art, having focused on painting and photography. From 2015 to 2023, she worked as a K-12 visual arts teacher in Springfield. She is a recent graduate from Boston University, 2025, with a Master’s of Fine Arts in Print Media and Photography.

Her work has been exhibited at the Leica Gallery in Boston and with the Griffin Museum of Photography. She currently lives in Boston and works at the New Impressions Print Studio and teaches workshops and classes at the Brookline Arts Center.
